Moth Night at Point Molate
Join Wholly H2O and Point Molate Alliance to see the large array of moths that live at Point Molate. Best done at night when moths are active, we'll have a couple of sites for you to check out moths gathering with the aid of black lights and white cloths. Expert Damon Tighe from the CA Center for Natural History will lead us into veritable mothdom.
This is a rare experience to experience Point Molate at night and learn from a super fun and knowledgeable moth man. Plan for being surprised at what you'll find. We'll put all of our observations up on iNaturalist, where Point Molate already has over 1800 observations, mostly from our work in the last few months documenting species. We want to keep the spectacular Point Molate as open space, and usable for our waterhood neighbors, as well as us humans
