The Scaly, the Slimy, and the Many-Legged: Putah Creek's Underloved Critters

Wed, Jul 17th 2019, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Winters Community Library Margaret Parsons Room (708 Railroad Ave, Winters).

"Herpetofauna? What's that?" This is a question that many people, from naturalists to day hikers, don't know the answer to. Apart from a very silly sounding word, it is the broad group that all Reptiles and Amphibians belong to. These amazing creatures are all around us here in California, although you may only ever see a handful of species. They are shy and generally unassuming little creatures, but once you dig deeper (and flip over a few logs) you can peer into their fascinating world. At this event, herpetologist Justin Clause will share his excitement for our scaley and slimy friends with the hope of turning our fear of the unknown and the alien, into respect and appreciation for the underloved creatures who inhabit our trails, our ponds, and sometimes, even our homes.

The presentation begins at 7pm at the Winters Community Library Margaret Parsons Room (708 Railroad Ave, Winters).
