Junior Audubon Birding Walk and Bilingual Family Hike

Sat, Apr 6th 2019, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Westwood Hills Park

On Saturday NSAS will be exploring Westwood Hills park with the help of a bilingual interpreter from the Napa Parks and Recreation department. Let’s learn about “nuestros parques” together. They will go over the basics of using binoculars, field guides, and birding apps. Westwood Hills is a 106-acre oasis in the heart of north Napa. Recent sightings have included a Nuttall's Woodpecker, Acorn Woodpeckers, and a pair of Cooper's Hawks.
Junior Audubon Birding Walks are free, and open to the public. Join in on the fun to explore local trails, learn about birds and wildlife, and just enjoy the natural treasures of the Napa Valley. Parents and younger siblings are encouraged to attend. The goal of the Junior Audubon program is to attract school-aged birders, but all ages are welcome. These walks are family-friendly. We walk at a moderate pace, stopping frequently to watch and listen to the birds. Please dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water, snacks, and binoculars if you have them. Registration is free, please sign up here.
