Flower monitoring day at Rockville Preserve

Fri, Apr 12th 2019, 8:30am - 12:00pm
Rockville Trails Preserve. From the intersection of Rockville Road and Suisun Valley road, head west 2.5 miles on Rockville Road. The driveway is somewhat hidden behind trees on the right side of the road, directly across from Cravea Lane. If you reach Green Valley Road you've gone ΒΌ mile too far.

Attend the volunteer day at Rockville Trails Preserve to help monitor our population of the rare nodding harmonia, a small yellow wildflower in the tarweed family that is only found in very small patches in the coast range mountains of our region. Participants will learn about the biology of this incredible little flower while conducting an annual census to assess the health of our population. Enjoy a beautiful hike to and from the site with sweeping vistas of the surrounding areas and colorful spring wildflowers.

Participants will need to hike approximately 1 mile each way to and from our site, while climbing approximately 500 ft in elevation (there's great views!). Monitoring will involve standing and bending for prolonged periods. Please bring water and sun protection, and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Rain or shine.

RSVP is required. To RSVP please email Ryan Lewis at ryan@solanolandtrust.org
