6th Annual California Climate Change Research Symposium September 8-10, 2009 Sacramento, California

The California Energy Commission is pleased to announce the 6th Annual California Climate Change Symposium to be held September 8 through September 10, 2009, at the Sacramento Convention Center.

Please save the dates for this exciting and informative scientific meeting on climate change science.

As with past conferences, funded through the Energy Commission's Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program, the symposium will showcase cutting-edge regional climate change science: from greenhouse gas inventory methods, climate change monitoring and analysis, to impacts mitigation and adaptation.

Professor Chris Field, from Stanford University and the Carnegie Institution for Science, the new chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change (IPCC) Working Group II, will be one of the keynote speakers. Professor Field will share his insights on the strategy that his working group will use for the preparation of the Impacts and Adaptation Report of the next IPCC Assessment.
