MEET: 8:30 AM in the lower parking lot at Goat Rock State Beach .

DIRECTIONS: Goat Rock State Beach is on Highway 1, about 2 miles south of Jenner. It is about 1 mile south of the intersection of 116 and Highway 1.

We will explore the beautiful coastline of northern Sonoma County . Goat Rock State Beach is at the mouth of the Russian River and is incredibly scenic. It is a beautiful area to observe wildlife, including a large Harbor Seal haul-out, waterfowl that frequents both the Russian River and the ocean. Moving inland we expect exciting land bird observations in the rich riparian habitat along Willowside Rd. and other local haunts. The Field Trip will end around 3:00. Pack lunch, water and snacks. Inexperienced birders, families & non-members are welcome.
