Rush Ranch Bird Walk
Walk the hills and marshlands surrounding Rush Ranch for a bird walk. Rush Ranch is a restored ranch owned originally by the Rush family. The ranch is now a education center and consists of trails that lead into both upland and wetland habitat. Many waterfowl within the marshes along with a plethora of shorebirds and rails. Barn Owl are in the structures and Great-Horned Owl can be found in the Eucalyptus groves. Cinnamon Teal, American Wigeon, Great-Blue Heron, Yellow-Rumped Warbler, Double-Crested Cormorant, Loggerhead Shrike, and Say's Phoebe are guaranteed. Short-Eared Owl, Golden Eagle, Black Rail, Tricolored Blackbird and Ridgeway's Rail have been reported in the past and have been seen regularly.
The weather is projected to be in the high 50s with a 40% chance of rain. Heavy rain will cancel. It is always cooler near the water. Please bring binoculars and sturdy hiking boots or shoes. Please dress accordingly to the weather and location.
