Owl Workshop and Beginning Bird Walk

Newell Open Space Preserve, 7000 Newell Dr, American Canyon, CA 94503. From Vallejo, take the 29 North to American Canyon. Turn right, going east, onto Donaldson Way East. Drive approximately one mile to the end, make a left at Newell Drive. The parking lot will be on the right. Parking is Free. Bathroom is available at the parking lot.

Join Napa-Solano Audubon for a workshop on Great Horned Owls. Learn about what makes these predators so successful, and why they nest so early in the spring.

The workshop will last from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a walk through the preserve. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please wear sturdy walking shoes or boots and bring water and binoculars if you have them. Weather and trail conditions can be highly variable. Layers and insect repellent are recommended.

Walks and workshops aimed at beginning birders are held twice a month on Saturdays at various locations in Napa and Solano Counties. Workshops begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a bird walk from 9:30 a.m. to noon. (NSAS Event)
