Fifth Annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids

Sat, Dec 15th 2018, 8:30am - 12:00pm
580 Coombs Street, Napa 94559

Participants will first meet-up at the Napa County Library for hot cider, snacks and a Binocular Boot Camp. Kids will have the opportunity to learn how to properly use binoculars before venturing out into the field. Local birding experts will lead groups to various local parks, where they will spend 1½ hours hiking, watching and counting birds. Groups will then return to the Napa County Library to share their sightings. Results will be uploaded into Cornell’s citizen science website eBird.

Participants should bring water, snacks, and binoculars (some will be available to loan out), and wear clothing and shoes suitable for hiking. Children attending the program must be accompanied by an adult.

Christmas Bird Count for Kids is free for participants, but registration is required. Check back at this website in a few days for the link to the registration site.
