Beginning Bird Walk

Sat, Nov 3rd 2018, 9:00am - 12:00pm
Newell Canyon Open Space Preserve, 7000 Newell Dr, American Canyon, CA 94503

Discuss fascinating oak and bird species interactions. Learn how to properly plant an acorn, and grow a native oak tree of your own! With views of thickly forested oak woodlands, this hike is a prime location for investigating this habitat. The workshop will last from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a walk through the preserve. There is a moderate up-hill grade to the Eucalyptus grove. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please wear sturdy walking shoes or boots and bring water and binoculars if you have them. Layers and a strong insect repellent are recommended.
