Nature Walk: Spring Birds of Lake Solano Park

Sat, Apr 28th 2018, 8:00am - 10:00am
Lake Solano County Park 8685 Pleasants Valley Rd Winters, 95694

Join Lake Solano Docents for a free, guided nature walk, "Spring Birds of Lake Solano," at Lake Solano Park on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Meet at the Lake Solano Nature Center to begin your stroll along the trails of Lake Solano Park with your volunteer guides.

California is located along migration routes for many songbirds. At Lake Solano, a wide array of habitats means that visitors can observe a diverse assortment of birds and other wildlife. On this tour, we'll observe year-round residents and migratory visitors while taking in the natural beauty of Lake Solano Park. Loaner binoculars will be available.

This event is a great opportunity to explore a local park that has much to offer: boating, picnic areas, wildlife viewing, and multiple hiking trails. Enjoy a day of strolling along Putah Creek while learning about local ecology and appreciating the beauty of this region.

These activities are appropriate for all ages, and families and groups are welcome. Please prepare for the weather and variable conditions by bringing water, wearing sturdy shoes, and dressing in layers. The tour will be rescheduled in the event of heavy rain. A camera and binoculars are recommended. Continue to enjoy the beautiful scenery by picnicking or renting a campsite for the weekend on a first-come, first-served basis.

Advance registration is recommended but not required. The day's activities are free, and parking is $6 per vehicle payable at the east entrance to the Park, on the day use side. For questions, call Karin Young at Putah Creek Council, 530-795-3006.
