Food Day is a national event which aims to reform the American food system, creating an environment which Americans’ have access to and are eating “real food”- nutritious food that is produced locally and sustainably, with thought for the environment and the people who grow, harvest, and serve the food.  This year Napa County plans to join with over 5000 events across the nation to participate in and celebrate Food Day.   Food Day events countrywide hope to be a springboard to create a movement to improve the diets of all Americans, enhance access to healthful foods to all Americans’ and solve food related environmental problems at a local, state, and federal level.

The Food Day events will culminate on October 25 at the Downtown Napa Farmers Market, followed by participation in the Harvest Festival at Connolly Ranch.  At the Farmers Market, partnering organizations will join forces to create a health and wellness fair showcasing the importance of fresh, local, and sustainable eating, local resources related to health and wellness, and information on sustainable farming in Napa County.

Please join with us during the week of October 24 to celebrate Food Day and create an initiative to transform the eating habits, life styles, and health of the community of Napa County!
