American Canyon Wetlands Tour
Napa Solano Audubon presents free nature activities on new trails in American Canyon Wetlands, part of the SF Bay Flyway Festival
Saturday & Sunday Feb. 11 & 12, 2012 9:00am-4:00pm
Meet near the parking lot at Eucalyptus Dr & Wetlands Edge Rd
Visit us on the Flyway!! Take a walk on the new wetlands trails, which offer expansive views & intriguing habitats—grasslands, woodland, salt water bay & mudflats, fresh water ponds, pickleweed marsh and the shores of the Napa River. Flocks of shorebirds, ducks, egrets and herons are sure to be seen. Hawks, hummingbirds and all sizes of songbirds abound. When you walk the new trail, stop and chat with our knowledgeable Audubon volunteers, who will be posted along the trail at viewing stations, happy to share what THEY are seeing through their spotting scopes!!! Or - Join a Beginners Bird Walk for children and families (binoculars available on loan) at 11:00am or 1:00pm; Also available: Childrens activities, interpretive signage and bird related items.
Also - during the Flyway Festival weekend, stop by the Napa Solano Audubon information and activities table in building 223 on Mare Island-- shop our book selection, visit with Audubon volunteers and pick up free materials: suggestions for creating a bird friendly backyard, plans for building bird houses, bird id charts and more.
