Napa County Watershed Symposium 2008

Napa County's Watershed Symposium 2008 was great success!

If you missed the Symposium, you can see it online here.

A local news article covering the Symposium can be viewed here.

The purpose of the Symposium was to raise awareness of issues facing Napa County’s watersheds & explore solutions for improving the health of the watersheds.

Highlights of the Symposium include:

  • 154 attendees
  • Theme - looking at the "Past, Present and Future" of Napa County’s watersheds
  • 31 watershed groups and organizations participated in "whirlwind tour"
  • Over 20 organizations provided displays/table information
  • Broad range of stakeholder/interest group participation was represented
  • Welcoming remarks by Board of Supervisor's Chair Brad Wagenknecht and Napa City Mayor Jill Techel
  • Kate Dargan (was County Fire Marshal, now State Fire Marshal) MC'd the show and received special recognition during the Symposium from the State Legislature for her work in Napa County

Feedback from Symposium attendees has been excellent and many expressed a desire to have another Symposium in 2009.

As a result, planning is already underway!
