Napa County Resource Conservation District
The Napa County Resource Conservation District (RCD) is a local non-regulatory agency whose mission is to promote responsible watershed management through voluntary community stewardship and technical assistance.
The goals of the RCD are: promotion of watershed based land stewardship, including sustainable agriculture; protection and enhancement of waterways and water quality; reduction of soil erosion; preservation and restoration of wildlife habitat; and, fostering of an informed and knowledgeable community.
Education and Outreach
The RCD publishes a quarterly newsletter, Conservation News, in cooperation with the NRCS. We provide several types of services including education programs; assistance to stewardship groups; restoration; support of sustainable farming; hydrological and biological research and monitoring; and opportunities for volunteer involvement.

The RCD acts as an informational network to facilitate natural resource conservation through community involvement, education, technical expertise, and scientific research. We are committed to utilizing voluntary, cooperative and scientifically sound methods to ensure that the natural resources of the watersheds within our district are sustained, restored and protected, while supporting the long-term economic and social vitality of the region.
