Wooden Valley Stream Habitat Inventory
The Napa County Resource Conservation District conducted stream inventories during June of 2002 on Wooden Valley Creek and its primary tributary, White Creek. The inventory was conducted in two parts; habitat typing and a visual biological inventory.
The objective of the habitat inventory was to document the amount and condition of available habitat to fish, and other aquatic species with an emphasis on anadromous salmonids in the Wooden Valley watershed. The biological component documented fish species presence in addition to other pertinent observations on flora and fauna. The objective of this report is to document the current habitat conditions, and recommend options for the potential enhancement of habitat for steelhead trout, and possibly chinook salmon.
Recommendations for habitat improvement activities are based upon target habitat values suitable for salmonids in California's north coast streams.
